I am writing from my desk in the wild.
Through my french doors, I can see the sun shining, swinging towards the west towards the sunset.
My cats roam in and out of my room.
I can feel the length of the days getting shorter.
And, today the day and night will be equal.
Fall Equinox.
I welcome thee. And with this equinox I usher in Community. Collaboration. Art.

I wrote Home is Where The Heart is in early 2019. My previous band Ghosha had recently parted ways with our drummer and we were kind of in a re-org phase. I knew my songwriting was changing, too. I signed up for a music songwriting program that prepared musicians for Sync licensing for TV and Film, because why not?! And, around that time, we had an assignment. They told us to write a song about Home. Home is something commonly used in TV and Film. Go figure!!
Home is Where The Heart is is a play on words. It’s about being on the road, craving the road, which then could only mean that home is somewhere out there on the road? Perhaps? You decide!
When I approached Michelle to sing this song, she added her spin to it, her interpretation. Well, that is art. And you can decipher from the song what you will! Because that is what music is meant for. For you to hear and make meaning of for you.
If you haven’t heard the song yet, you can also hear it anytime you want on Spotify:
And, if you feel so inclined, tell me what your interpretation of the song is!
